This exhibition of contemporary jewellery is a personal response to the strong emotional transition of becoming a mother. The work speaks to the loss of control and the assault to my self-esteem and identity. It is an expression of the struggle and ambivalence I felt towards my new role as a mother. Using traditional and non-traditional metalsmithing techniques, the bracelet form affirms a strong conceptual tie to the emotions and actions felt and performed through this new developing relationship.
